Cafe Central Palace in the heart of Marrakesh offers a straightforward, no-frills spot mainly favored by locals who know their way around authentic Moroccan breakfasts and simple meals. While it operates as a cafe more than a full-service restaurant, the atmosphere leans toward cozy and calm rather than bustling or touristy.

This is the kind of place where you come for a solid start to the day—think carefully prepared msemen with a variety of toppings, or a traditional breakfast plate served with fresh, rich espresso. The cafe's modest setup means ordering happens at the counter, which reflects a practical, everyday rhythm rather than formal dining.

Most visitors appreciate the quietness and the chance to observe local life close to Jemaa el Fna without the noise and crowds typical of more tourist-centered cafés nearby. The open kitchen adds a subtle transparency to your experience, showing care and order in food prep that reassures even if the service isn’t polished or fluent in English. Prices remain very reasonable, making it a fitting spot for travelers and locals alike who want quality food without fuss.

The best time to visit is breakfast or midday, as the kitchen turns out warming traditional dishes perfect for fueling your exploration of Marrakesh’s medina. Regulars come back multiple times, drawn by the consistency and simple comfort this place provides amid the city’s busy pace.

If you're looking for a quiet pause, real local flavors, and a friendly but low-key welcome, Cafe Central Palace offers a genuine slice of Marrakech life with good espresso and hearty plates to match.

Very good local food (msemen with different toppings, omelet). Very cheap prices (we paid about 3 EUR per person). Service is very lacking (also because of english language barrier), we needed to go up to the counter to order and pay. But I would recommend.

A very good restaurant, visited mostly by locals. I was there three times — I tried hssoua, lubiya, and fish kefta, and it was always delicious. I’m happy I discovered this non-touristic place near Jemaa el Fna.

I went there for having breakfast, guess what it was so delicious that I walked few kilometers back for eating my lunch there before leaving Marrakech. Absolutely amazing food and the staff were so nice along with their cozy restaurant atmosphere. Highly recommended to eat at this place.

The best breakfast I've had in over a week in morocco. I had the traditional and it was so complete and the mesenem was the best I've had. I've also been here in the evening and the food was amazing quality, taste and value. The ambience is very relaxing and quiet, and the open kitchen is clean and orderly. The staff are very sweet and calm. This has to be the best you're going to get in the proximity of jema al fna. Gonna keep coming back to try all the menu!!!

A place where locals eat, basic and clean but great food. I had an omelette, 2 coffees with fresh bread for 25MAD (£2). Food was fresh, coffee really great and although they don’t speak too much English, it was all served with a smile.

We went here for dinner the both days we were in Marrakech. Fresh, tasty food and very hospitable staff. We requested for mint in warm water without tea, and we got that too. Please be mindful of the timings during Ramdam period.
